Self Love Part 2

Rosemarie is very Dear to my heart, I watched her as a child and admired her as her blossomed into beautiful, talented, confident and independent young woman.

And now I am so proud to present to you Rosemarie’s commentary on women loving their selves and considering their selves Beautiful without needing outside validation.
In other words, ladies I want you to love yourself so much and so intensely that no one on this earth can love your better. Only God is pure love, God’s love is everlasting and steadfast, God loved you so much He gave His only begotten son so you can have life and have it more abundantly. Now that is love. Ladies take time to learn to love and validate yourself more and more until you do not need or desire to hear someone whisper in your ear, “Baby I love you.”
Please read my Rose take on our talented Fantasia and what happened to her because she believe she needed someone to love her……..
Beautiful . . . Again

O.k., so what! I’m having another reality television moment. I told you before that I’m a reality television addict! This blog relates to one of my American Idol favorites R&B singer Fantasia Barrino. Fantasia won the hearts of many Americans with her sultry sound on American Idol and has since released three albums, sold millions of records and starred on Broadway. To bring you up to speed, if you’re not already ahead of me, Fantasia attempted suicide in August 2010 after an affair with a married/separated man. She met this gentleman suitor at a retail telephone store and became enamored with him because he told her “things that no one else told her . . . that she’s beautiful.” I hope there was more to her admiration for this man other than that fact. If I heard Fantasia correctly, even after she won American Idol, became famous and starred on Broadway, no other man told her how special or how beautiful she was until this man came along? If he was the first to speak these words to her, today’s men need sensitivity training! Don’t you guys know that women are sensitive beings and love to be complimented? As I write this blog while listening to Fantasia singing “I’m Here” from the Color Purple wherein she sings that she’s beautiful, those words obviously didn’t sink in prior to her attempted suicide. Fantasia is actually singing about the very thing she’s been longing for but failed to give the appropriate attention.

We are only as beautiful as we feel. We must learn to love and pay attention to ourselves. We must learn to uplift our spirits. We must learn to give ourselves the props we deserve which can be done humbly and without developing an arrogant spirit. If we look to hear certain words from others before reciting them to ourselves, like Fantasia, it may be decades before we hear what we should already know—we are BEAUTIFUL. No matter how ugly we may think certain physical attributes about ourselves are, we are all beautiful! Bullies in society who are insecure with themselves oftentimes put others down in order to uplift themselves. These acts can create low self-esteem, hatred, doubt in our abilities and a myriad of other adverse emotions which could possibly lead to mental instability—then the bullies would win! No two people are alike, even identical twins. Every situation is different. There’s someone out here for everyone and he or she will come along when the time is right! We must be patient and learn to celebrate ourselves before we pass that task along to someone else.

Sometimes we can be our worst critics. We all have at least one thing about ourselves that we’d like to change or that we think isn’t beautiful. I may not like the corns on my toes, but my feet are beautiful because I’m blessed to have them! I may not like the gap in my teeth, but I love my smile. I may not like the fact that I hover taller than my beau in heels, but I step like an Alvin Ailey dancer when I rock stilettos. I may not like the extra weight that I carry, but I love that my doctors report that I’m a healthy human being. I don’t like the fact that I forget what I went to grab from downstairs after I’ve returned upstairs, but I love that I’m able to put words together in this blog and pen a poem or two. I despise the lone strand of black hair that grows on my chin, but I love the fact that it reminds me of my mom who used to grow the same strand, but gray, on the opposite side of her chin. I don’t like the fact that my hair color is making my hair dry as the Mohave Desert, but I love that I’m blessed to have enough hair of my own to comb. Know that whatever physical attribute you dislike about yourself, you are beautiful, there’s someone else that wishes they had what you have and someone will love you and every one of your flaws.

Learn to love you, no matter what! Wrote a poem about it, wanna read it? Here it go :-)

Love You!

If your waist is thin with anorexic skin, love you!
If your breath is foul and others scowl, love you!
If you walk with a limp and act like a wimp, love you!
If the car you drive barely lets you arrive alive, love you!
If the words you think disappear when you blink, love you!
If being broke is no joke and you’ve lost all hope, love you!
If your hair is coarse and there’s no other recourse, love you!
If you’re short and small but wish to be large and tall, love you!
If scholars affirm you’re astute but ignorance refutes, love you!
If you can’t cook a lick but microwaving does the trick, love you!
If the smile on your face is jack-o-lanterned or braced, love you!
If your legs scrape together and are rough like leather, love you!
If your eyes roll like a toad and you can’t see the road, love you!
If you’ve had love but lost and desire love at any cost, love you!
If you’re your only friend and have trouble blending in, love you!
If you’re a victim of ridicule, it’s them who are the fools, love you!
If you’re overweight and can’t push away from the plate, love you!
If your bank account is depleted, you won’t be defeated, love you!
If you wear magnifying glasses and no one makes passes, love you!
If pimples connect like dots and you don’t think you’re hot, love you!
If popularity with the opposite gender causes you to surrender, love you!
If your toes are shaped like hammers, it really doesn’t matter, love you!
If your clothes of last years’ styles won’t be replaced for a while, love you!
Love you!
Love you!

Self Love

WAKE UP TO SELF-LOVE Part I

Why are so many teens and women trying to change their appearance?  Why are we spending billion of dollars trying to change our hair, color, face and body shape?  Why are we falling the hype, “Blonds have more fun”, or you have to be thin to be beautiful?  What do you think would happen if we spent all of this time and effort, not to mention money on inner self improvement, learning to love and appreciate our selves or discovering and developing our talents?
 Where is our self love?

Ladies, please check out Laurie Martin’s, website:
http://www.smileacrossyourheart.com/.

First, Laurie is an author, inspirational, and professional speaker, certified Life Coach as well as a radio host.  She teaches self-love, self reliance, inner wisdom and empowerment, the same exact tools we are developing for ourselves.  Ms. Martin has written several books than you can find at: www.Amazon.com.  And second, I found out about Laurie Martin, from Kim Coles, site:
                                           and http://kimcoles.tv/.
Kim’s site is called G.I. F.T.S, which stands for Gratitude, Intention, Forgiveness, Talents, Self love, skills we should use daily.  We will spend our next sessions exploring the concepts, tools and skills we can use, learn and develop to live and have the life we deserve.

This title is directly from Laurie’s site.
How do you know when you have grown in self-love?

1. When you are able to say, "I'm sorry, I was wrong" without excuses.
2. When you are going through a tough situation and you are focusing on the wisdom you are gaining and how you are expanding your heart- into more parts of yourself.
3. When you notice you are not personalizing other people’s behavior as much.
4. When you notice you are able to vocalize and communicate instead of run away.
5. When you have the courage and belief that you are cable of achieving something.
6. When you describe situations from a higher, positive perspective without blaming others.
7. When you can see the goodness in others even when they are not feeling good about themselves.
8. When you are able to forgive yourself and others easier.
9. You are able to discern what isn’t working for you in relationships; you vocalize it in a responsible way and take action in a way that brings you to a healthy empowered place.
10. You allow your true self to come out.
11. You trust yourself, your intuition and feelings.
12. You can laugh when you do silly things instead of reading yourself the riot act.
13. You catch yourself when your mind is spinning on negative things or fixating on others too much, and you draw your energy back to positive thoughts more quickly.

 14. You are able to open your heart and love unconditionally.
15. When you have more patience with your life path and your divine timing.

16. When you able to be genuinely happy for others when they are doing well.
17. When you are able to step into your feelings and be present without running or judging.
18. When you notice that the people around you are wiser and more in their heart space than previous friends and romantic partners.
19. When you are able to admit that you don't know what someone is talking about.
20. When you make healthier nutritional choices.
21. When you make time for physical exercise.
22. When you make time for your divine connection, gratitude and prayer.
23. When you are able to open to a new perspective or create a more positive life script.
24. When you are more "clear" on who you are, your desires and the way you express yourself.
25. You are able to say, "No, I don't buy into that negative thinking because I believe in the best possible scenario!"
26. You are able to look at your fears like a third party not identifying with you, but as the observer.

After assessing your SELF-LOVE using Laurie's list, where do you stand??
And my question to you is where do you what to stand?
Where do you what to be on this list of self love, self assurance and awareness?
I want to be able to check yes for each and everyone, do you?
